When the programme is successfully completed, the students receive bachelor degree on the physical science.
First Cycle
Student who wants to register to the department, must pass the examinations and complete the process which identified by OSYM.
Students, who had started an education of equivalent programme in or out of the country, can make an application for undergraduate transfer. The acceptations are investigated and evaluated before the start of semester by considering the condition of each student and degree of application.
Admission can be made from the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. Successful vocational school graduates to continue their educaiton to obtain Bachelor’s degrees if they are successful in vertical transfer examination are also admitted. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs in vocational school from which they have graduated. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Ataturk University and thus the department is not an exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language. The students who achieve a passing grade from the exam are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.
Students must be successfull and/or pass all courses on the programme that are explained education and exam regulation of Ataturk University.
1. In accordance with the requirements of the 21. century, the major aim of Physics Department is to educate the physicist who have learned the basic physics knowledge, become aware of new scientific and technological developments, can carry out the scientific researches, and are capable of scientific thinking.
2. The another aim is to give the physics courses of other departments.
Graduates take professional role in establishment of many public and private sector; such as TAEK, TUBİTAK, TSE, TUİK ve teacher at Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education, and researcher/lecturer at Universities.
Upon a successful completion of the programme, students are eligible to apply to Master’s Degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines
1. Exams consist of short-term exam, midterm exam, final exam, the only course exam, additional exams, make-up exam and compensate for the exemption exam. These examinations can be applied as written, oral or both written and oral and / or the various types. 2. At least two hours are given for Final exams and at least one teaching hours is given for midterm exams. The examination time is determined by the instructor for the Short-term exams such as multiple choice and fill in the blank. 3. Midterm examinations and any similar studies on laboratory and class, the contribution of the homework and short-term examinations 60% of the average course grades of crude, while the effect of final exams is 40%. 4. Statistical evaluations are taken into account with the lower limit (AL). The students whose crude achievement scores fall below AL are counted fails and evaluated by FF grade. The scores between AL and DKL are counted by the other statistical evaluation. The student who gets the one of the grades of AA, BA, BB, CB ve CC for a course is considered successful. The grades of DC and DD taken for a course are evaluated depending on the students’ AGNO. 5. Among the students who have taken all the courses by the end of the semester successfully and have not taken any disciplinary punishment, the ones with the AGNO between the 3.00-3.49 and with the AGNO between 3.50-4.00 are received a certificate of semester honors and semester high honors, respectively.
After succesfully completed the courses with at least 240 ECTS students graduates. Students have two midterms and a final exam for each course.
Moreover, after passing all courses students have a right of upgrade exams for three courses and after completing the maximum education period they have a right of four exam for courses which they have failed.
