In the Department of Economics, formal and secondary education programs are offered at the undergraduate level. A bachelor's degree in Economics is awarded to students who successfully complete a four-year undergraduate education, that is, all the courses available in the program (for a total of 240 ECTS) and achieve a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.

Atatürk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics accepts students who have a high school diploma and score in the required equal weight numerical type as a result of the YGS and LYS exams conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
Students studying at Atatürk University may be exempt from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken at another institution is in accordance with the content of the course given at Atatürk University and it is approved by the relevant faculty/institute/school administrative board, the student may be exempted from this course.
As explained in the Atatürk University Education and Examination Regulations, in order for students to graduate from this department, they are required to be successful in all the courses prescribed in their programs.
The aim of the Department of Economics is to equip our students with the knowledge to solve the economic problems encountered in national and international fields.
Graduates of the Department of Economics, in the private sector, especially in banks, finance, industry and foreign trade, business administration, accounting, marketing, insurance, human resources, and in the public sector, Undersecretariat of Treasury, Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, Central Bank, State Institute of Statistics, Competition Board and Capital Markets. They have the opportunity to work in institutions such as the Board of Directors and international organizations. In addition, the media, hospital administrations, DPT (State Planning Organization), TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute), chambers of commerce and industry, local governments, foundations, NGOs and organizations working on a voluntary basis are some of the institutions where economists can work.
Students graduating from this program can apply to graduate programs in their own fields or related fields, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have sufficient English language knowledge, depending on their field of specialization. Students with high honor degrees can also apply directly to doctoral programs at Atatürk University.
A midterm exam, quiz, homework and final exam are given for each course given in the department. The effect of midterm exams, short-term exams and homework on the success grade is 40%, and the final exam is 60%. In order to take the term exam, the student must fulfill the attendance requirements written in the regulations. All exams are evaluated over 100 points and a relative evaluation system is applied in calculating the success grade of the students. In this evaluation; The instructor of the course takes into account the statistical results of the scores of the students who take the course in the semester/year and semester/end exams, and the grades received are converted into a 4-letter system within the framework of the principles determined in the regulation. Those who have a Weighted Grade Point Average (CGPA), which is formed from the grades received by the student, below 2.00 for 2 consecutive semesters, cannot take courses from the next semester. A student who receives AA, BA, BB, CB and CC grades from a course is deemed to have succeeded in that course. DC and DD grades taken from a course are evaluated depending on the student's graduation CGPA. If the student's CGPA is above the success threshold, these courses are defined as successful. FF grade is given to students who fail the relevant course. A student who receives an FF grade must take this course in the first semester/year in which it is given and fulfill the attendance and exam requirements. Courses appreciated with success grades of M and G are not included in the evaluation in calculating AGNO.
Students who successfully complete all the courses they have to take in the education program of the Department of Economics and have a minimum CGPA of 2.00 are awarded a Bachelor's degree.
