The students who graduate the Faculty of Theology are awarded bachelor degree on Theology and 'Theologian' title.
First Cycle (Bachelor's degree)
The students who do well in the exam which by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) among the students who graduate from high schools and their equivalents are accepted at Ataturk University Faculty of Theology. For the students who graduate a foreign country’s secondary school, their diploma equivalency have to be approved by Ministery of National Education.
Admission can be made from the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council (HEC).
Students must be successfull and/or pass all courses on the programme including graduation thesis and internship that are explained education and exam regulation of Ataturk University.
Our goals are, in the process of enlighting society, in primary and secondary level schools, to educate the staff who will be employed in the units of Presidency of Religious Affairs in the light of contemporary and Islamic sciences, and also, to bring the researchers who can find out and evaluate all kinds of book and document existing in our libraries and who acquaint classic and contemporary Turkish-Islamic culture in science world.
Graduates take professional role in establishment of many public and private sector: The teacher at official and private institutions and imam, preacher (vaiz) and mufti at The Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
The graduates holding Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply to Master’s Degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.
For each course assessment and grading is described in Syllabus in details. Grades are assessed through relative assessment system. Assessment is done according to the Education and Examination Regulation of Ataturk University and accomplishment is evaluated with activity such as term and final examinations and homeworks.
Students must take and pass all necessary courses, graduation thesis and the dissertation listed in curriculum totaling 240 ECTS credits and reach a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2,0.
