Bachelor degree in Food Engineering/Food Engineer

Food Engineering program only accepts students who take centrally-organized university entrance exam for high school graduates and Lateral Transfer Exam for graduates of two-year vocationbal colleges. In addition, Program also accepts double-major students. There is a quota for international students who are admitted through selection by the university amoung the applicants.
Admission can be made from the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. Vocational school graduates who are successful in vertical transfer examination are also admitted.Exams of exemption are organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language.
Students must be successful and/or pass all courses on the programme including gruduation thesis and intership that are explained education and exam regulation of Atatürk University.
To train engineers and science persons who have basic knowledge of Food Engineering, who can integrate theory with practice and communicate with different disciplines, and who is comfortable with teamwork, and respectful to ethical values, and to conduct research for the development of food industry and thereby contributing to national development.
Food Engineers take professional role in establishment of many public and private sector; Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Development, National Productivity Centre, Control and Certification Bodies in Food industry and Food Industry etc.
The graduates holding Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply to Master’s Degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines. Students who are high honor students are also eligible to apply to doctorate degree.

In order to be graduated from the BS program, students must successfully complete 140 credit hours and have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2,00. The duration of the program is 4 years.
